The UKBFF sends teams to the IFBB European Championships and the IFBB World Championships. All international amateur competitions are drug tested. The UKBFF Executive Committee has the final say which athletes will represent the UK. The athletes that are chosen will be drug tested.

There are European Men's, Women's, Junior's and Master's Championships and IFBB World Men's, Women's Junior's and Master's Championships. There are also IFBB World Men's Classic Bodybuilding Championships. In total seven IFBB Continental and World Championships.

If a competitor is representing the UKBFF at the European or World Championships, all expenses are paid for by the federation.

The route to a pro card for the ladies is through the European and World Championships. The top 3 of the women's categories in UK Finals have the right to compete and represent the UKBFF in these international events. If they place in the top 3 in the World Championships or are the Class winner in the European Championships, they will have the possibility to apply for a pro card. Men's classes will have this opportunity as well.

A competitor, who wins their class at the Arnold Amateur Classic, can apply to the UKBFF Executive Committee to be considered for Pro-status.
